BOODHOO, NIALA is a business reporter for The Miami Herald. Her beat includes reporting on the local economy and the labor market for the print edition, MiamiHerald.com and The Herald's radio partner, the local NPR affiliate WLRN. She has previously worked for the Associated Press in Miami and for Reuters in London and Washington, DC. Boodhoo is a Miami native who started her journalism career at the Herald as a high school intern. Her undergraduate degree is in philosophy and psychology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also has masters' degrees in journalism from Northwestern University and Latin American/Caribbean Studies from Florida International University in Miami. Boodhoo enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach, especially in the Caribbean. She is also a member of the Veriditas labyrinth society.
