About Sarah Nordgren

SARAH NORDGREN is deputy director of state news for the Associated Press in Chicago, IL. With the director, she has editorial and operational responsibility for domestic news reports of the AP's bureaus in the United States. She also oversees State News Online, a project bringing state news reports to domestic newspapers. Nordgren first joined the AP in 1982 as a general assignment reporter and after 13 years became assistant chief of the Illinois bureau. Before becoming deputy director, she spent a year as the deputy managing editor, Page One for the Daily Herald (Arlington Heights, IL). Nordgren has a Bachelor's degree in U.S. History from Hobart and William Smith College and a Master's degree in American and New England Studies from Boston University.
