She freelances for Patch.com sites in the Silicon Valley, as well as for other media outlets. She frequently fills in as a guest editor for Patch sites. She is also a citizen blogger for The Bay Citizen. Marino is a Bay Area native who graduated from San Diego State University majoring in political science, with a minor in journalism. She has worked as a reporter off and on for various weekly newspapers in California while raising a family. She covered city governments, courts, and politics, and wrote feature stories. She enjoys all things media: newspapers, Internet, TV, films, social, magazines, books, etc. Other interests include gardening, hiking, cooking, and volunteering. Amazingly valuable.
