About Patricio Espinoza
Patricio G. Espinoza is a Digital Entrepreneur, Emmy award-winning Journalist and self taught Wordpress die hard geek. His current community journalism project is AlamoCityTimes.com, a hyperlocal effort with 99% user generated community content in San Antonio, Texas. Patricio also leads nuzGeeks.com, an endeavor to use Wordpress to help journalists launch a community news sites. And serves as Digital Journalis Adjunct Instructor at OLLU, as well as New Media trainer for professional journalists using today's digital tools.
In 2009 Patricio launched SA4Mayor.com, a one-man-band blog covering politics using videos, LIVE Streaming and Social Media. SA4Mayor hosted San Antonio's first ever virtual town-hall meeting, reached 25,000 page views in 90 days, and on elections night called the Mayoral race before all local traditional media.
Patricio's blog espiBlog.org, is a 2009 Breaking News, Emmy Advance Media Award recipient. During the last two decades, Espinoza has also worked in traditional broadcast including NPR-Spanish, ABC, Fox News, CNN, Univision, Discovery and A&E among others.
Espinoza contributes to Oblate Missions in San Antonio, Texas as Managing Editor and Communications Mgr., and teaches Digital Journalism at OLLU in San Antonio, TX. He is a Poynter, USC KDMC, and McCormick Fellow, and served with NAHJ's Board of Directors.
