About Pam Leblanc

LeBLANC, PAM is the fitness writer at the Austin American-Statesman, a 175,000-circulation newspaper covering Central Texas. She writes a weekly column called Fit City, along with regular travel articles, general features and a monthly he said-she said car review. Fit City focuses on the triathletes, cyclists, climbers, swimmers, runners and paddlers who give Austin its reputation as one of the fittest cities in the country - and folks trying to join those ranks. An almost native Texan (she moved to Austin at 4), LeBlanc graduated with a degree in agriculture journalism (really) from Texas A&M University. Her first newspaper job was at the Plano Star-Courier outside Dallas, where she covered transportation and features. Then it was on to The Monitor in McAllen, in far South Texas, where she was a features writer, entertainment editor, columnist, and later assistant city editor supervising a dozen reporters. She's a master’s swimmer, slalom water skier and scuba diver who bikes to work and loves to read and travel.
