About Harry Goldstein
GOLDSTEIN, HARRY is the senior editor of spectrum.ieee.org, the companion Web site of IEEE Spectrum magazine, the flagship publication of the 385,000-member Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. His responsibilities range from acquiring and editing articles on topics as diverse as software patent law and carbon trading to directing the development of blogs and interactive applications to overseeing the redesign of the Spectrum Web site, due to a re-launch in March 2009. Goldstein hails from Louisvllle, KY, earned a bachelor’s in English from Carleton College in Northfield, MN and later earned a master’s in creative writing from City College of New York. He has been with Spectrum for almost eight years and has previously been managing editor of John Wiley & Sons Technical Insights newsletter group and managing editor of Civil Engineering magazine. He’s an avid road cyclist and consumer of heart-stoppingly delectable pork products, sometimes managing to indulge both enthusiasms simultaneously.
