About Regina Boone

BOONE, REGINA H. joined the Detroit Free Press as a staff photographer in 2003, where she shoots features, sports, news and special projects, and occasionally works on the night photo editing desk. Her previous work experience includes photo internships at The Virginian-Pilot and Richmond Free Press in Virginia, and The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, TN. Boone, whose world travels include Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe, lived in Osaka, Japan for three years where she taught English to junior high school students through the Japanese Exchange Teaching Program. Some of the interests that grew out of her travels include cooking Thai, Japanese and Indonesian food, and practicing yoga and meditation. Her other interests include volunteering with local community organizations that serve children, women and the arts. Boone completed her undergradute studies in political science at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and attended graduate School at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication in Athens, OH.
