REBACH, BOB is the assistant graphics editor for The Record and Herald News, combined-circulation 137,269 dailies that cover Bergen and Passaic counties in northeastern New Jersey. His responsibilities include creating graphics for the paper and website, as well as helping supervise a staff of eight artists that are also producing graphics, illustrations and page design for the paper. Rebach is a native of Maryland's eastern shore and a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts. He also studied graphic arts at the Joe Kubert School for Cartoon and Graphic Arts in Dover, New Jersey. His first newspaper job was in Morristown, New Jersey, where he worked as a staff artist for the Daily Record. Rebach has also been a member of the graphics staff  for The National Sports Daily and The Sacramento Bee. He joined The Record staff in 2000 and became the assistant graphics editor in 2006. He enjoys cycling, riding his bicycle this summer in the annual trans-Iowa cycling event, RAGBRAI, and running; he ran his first marathon in 2009 in Washington, D.C. and just finished his second in Philadelphia in November. He also enjoys working on projects with his son, baking and playing with his iPad.
