About Reese Dunklin

DUNKLIN, REESE is the first staffer of The Dallas Morning News to win the prestigious Livingston Award, which recognizes the country's top young journalists working in newspapers, television, magazines and radio. His winning stories were part of the 2004 series, "Runaway Priests: Hiding in Plain Sight," which showed how Catholic Church leaders had moved priests accused of sexual abuse across international borders to elude authorities and victims. A native Texan, he joined The News in 1999 as a reporter in its Denton County bureau. From 2002 to 2005, he was part of The News' award-winning coverage of the clergy sex-abuse scandal, which produced investigations featured on ABC's Nightline, CNN and National Public Radio. Since then, he has reported on scandals within Dallas City Hall and Texas' Child Protective Services. And in 2007, he helped produced a five-day series called “Unequal Justice,” which showed how Texas’ criminal law lets killers receive probation and possibly keep convictions off their records. He is a 1998 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington.
