About Ryan Loew

LOEW, RYAN is a mobile journalist for the Lansing State Journal, a 90,000-circulation newspaper that covers Lansing, MI. Loew not only writes stories but also shoots and edits photos, video and other multimedia content. He has covered homicides, tornadoes, presidential campaign stops, fires, county fairs, GM strikes, a partial state shutdown and even a rhino surgery. He's covered the education beat and written stories about a Lansing boy injured in an amateur boxing match. He has also produced video packages about a Lansing man wrongly convicted of murder and about how local neighborhoods were affected by a rash of killings in 2007. He studied journalism at Kent State University in Ohio, graduating in August 2007. While in college he interned at The Indianapolis Star, The Columbus Dispatch and the Springfield News-Sun. He was also editor-in-chief of Kent State's student newspaper, The Daily Kent Stater.
