About Ricardo Martinez
CURIEL, RICARDO is the Communications Lead for Mexico at the International Maize and
Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), a research organization that aims to sustainably
increase the productivity of basic crop systems for the benefit of resource-constrained farmers. He is responsible for the press and public relations of MasAgro (the Sustainable Modernization of Traditional Agriculture), a 10-year program that receives funding from the Mexican Government and the Inter-American Development Bank. Curiel worked previously at the British Embassy in Mexico City, where he was responsible for the UK postgraduate scholarships program for Mexican students, and managed capacity building projects that promoted freedom of expression and justice reform in Mexico. Curiel started his career as Public Affairs and Social Responsibility Specialist at Pfizer Mexico. He holds an MSc in International Management and Marketing from Queen Mary, University of London, and a BA in International Relations form the Monterrey Institute of Science and Technology in Mexico City.
