Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
HOWARD SALTZ is the associate editor for new media and strategic development at The Denver Post where he is responsible for DenverPost.com. Howard developed the newspapers convergence relationship with the local NBC affiliate and has also developed relationships with local Spanish-language television and local public television stations. He also helped launch participation in the daily ESPN show "Around the Horn." Howard has also served as the multimedia editor, deputy managing editor/features, and deputy business editor at The Denver Post. From 1991 to 1996, he served as the editor of The Tribune-Democrat in Johnstown, PA, a 50,000-circulation daily where he managed 48 employees. Prior to that, he worked as an editor at The Argus in Freemont, CA, an editor at The Journal-News in Hamilton, OH, and an editor at The North Jersey Advance in Dover/Flanders, NJ. He has been a regular guest lecturer for journalism departments at the University of Pittsburgh; California State University, Hayward; and Ohlone Community College in Fremont, CA. Howard has won two national awards for newspaper design and twelve state and regional awards for writing, editing, and community service. He earned a Bachelor's in liberal arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Society for News Design.
