About Sarah Terry-Cobo
is a freelance journalist based in the Bay Area, specializing in environmental science and policy and Latin American issues. Recently she has reported for California Watch’s news blog, The Daily Report, KQED’s Climate Watch project, the quarterly magazine Race, Poverty and the Environment and the hyper-local site Oakland Local. Prior to that, she worked as a reporter and researcher at the Center for Investigative Reporting, for their award winning Carbon Watch series, digging deep into carbon markets, forest conservation projects and climate change legislation. Other notable gigs include: GreenBiz.com, Forbes.com and The Oakland Tribune. She is a native Oklahoman, where she graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor’s degree in environmental policy. In 2006 she moved to California to attend UC Berkeley, where she graduated with a master’s in journalism and master’s in Latin American studies. She enjoys hiking in the Amazon jungle.
