Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
BUFFALO, SALLY is the online editor at The Tribune, a 40,000-circulation newspaper that covers San Luis Obispo County on California’s central coast. Her responsibilities include overseeing content, new features and design of the newspaper’s web site, www.sanluisobispo.com, which grew 30 percent in audience last year. She also recently led the launch of a new community web site, www.myslocounty.com. Buffalo is a native of Bethesda, MD, just outside the nation’s capital. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. She worked at newspapers in the Washington, D.C. area and North Carolina as an assigning editor before moving to California three years ago to take on the same role at The Tribune. She became the online editor one year ago. She also edits a twice-yearly wine tourism magazine. She loves to travel and recently returned from a trip to South Africa. She also enjoys the many outdoor activities available on California’s coast.
