About Laura Sellers-Earl

LAURA SELLERS-EARL is the corporate internet editor East Oregonian Publishing where she sets the online direction for six small newspapers, produces Web sites for three weeklies, trains newsroom staff and others about the Web, and writes and edits the company's monthly newsletter. Prior to that, she was the state editor for The Billings Gazette in Billings, MT. From 1992 to 1999, she was at The Daily Astorian, working her way up from a position as an ad designer to senior copy editor and ultimately managing editor. In that role, she managed three desk editors, eight reporters, and two photographers at the award-winning, 9,000-circulation, five-day daily in Astoria OR. Laura attended the University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Eastfield College. She won the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Better Newspaper Contest in 1999, has won several awards for page design over the years, and has led more than one newsroom to win dozens of journalism and other awards from ONPA and the Society of Professional Journalists.
