About Scott Hatfield
Scott Hatfield is a multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Philadelphia. His experience includes decades writing about medicine and healthcare for a series of national print news magazines with a combined circulation of over one million. In this role, he reported on clinical developments on location in all parts of the United States and in Europe, national health policies and leaders as well as medical device and pharmaceutical products. As journalism turned digital, his skills evolved to integrate video, audio, and digital photography in his reporting. In his most recent position as multimedia editor for a series of health web sites, he used various digital storytelling platforms to create multimedia packages and trained staff print journalists in visual storytelling techniques and best uses of recording equipment. An independent filmmaker, his documentary on AIDS prevention in Africa was featured on CNN International and received a number of international and national awards. Hatfield is a native of Pennsylvania and graduated with a journalism degree from Temple University and completed a medical writing master’s degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. When not behind the camera, he is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists using his skills in front of the camera on various television and feature film sets.
