About Suzie Racho

is a producer and director at KQED Public Radio in San Francisco. She works primarily on “The California Report,” a 30-minute weekly newsmagazine broadcast statewide and “The Do List,” a weekly interview segment highlighting Northern California arts events. Her duties include: booking guests, editing host segments, selecting music and acting as the assignment editor for book and music reviewers. She also helps produce and direct all of the special statewide broadcasts for “The California Report”. Racho is a native Northern Californian, born and raised in San Jose. She graduated with a degree in journalism from San Francisco State University in 1994. Prior to KQED, Racho worked in the music industry doing tour promotion and artist relations. She came to KQED in 1996, starting as a news assistant at “The California Report”, working her way up to her current position in 2000. She’s an avid knitter and baker who enjoys bootcamp-style workouts, baseball and road trips.
