About Sandra Oshiro
OSHIRO, SANDRA is Patch.com's regional editor for Hawaii. Patch is a national network of hyperlocal sites covering news, events, sports, business and the daily buzz that engages towns, communities and neighborhoods. Sandee will be responsible for launching community sites on the island of Oahu in 2011. Prior to joining Patch, Sandee served as the director of digital content and managing editor/digital for The Honolulu Advertiser. She filled numerous capacities at the newspaper, starting as a general assignment reporter and government writer, and then moving on to serve as assistant city editor and business editor. In 1999, she directed the launch of HonoluluAdvertiser.com and helped to build the site into one of the largest among Gannett Co. properties. Sandee and her husband have one daughter attending college and one mini-daschund that aspires to do nothing more than sleep. Sandee enjoys reading and movies and coordinates a support group for families who have children with autism.
