About Tara Duggan
DUGGAN, TARA is a freelance writer and cookbook author who covers the Bay Area food scene for newspapers, magazines and websites including the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times and the Bay Citizen. She was a staff writer and editor at the San Francisco Chronicle from 1999 to 2009, where she wrote feature articles and created recipes for her 11-year column, the Working Cook. While at the Chronicle, she was also a restaurant critic, performed TV cooking demos and experienced life in the back shop as a copy editor. A native Californian, she received her bachelor of arts from UC Berkeley and completed the California Culinary Academy’s chef training program. Duggan and her husband live in San Francisco, where she enjoys spending time cooking food that her two young daughters refuse to eat. The family escapes the city at her brother’s off-the-grid farm in Mendocino
County, CA.
