Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
COLEMAN, TONI is the associate editor of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, responsible for the news section of the magazine and daily online news alerts. She is overseeing the multimedia effort for DiverseEducation.com by hosting web chats, assigning and editing audio/video and planning a new blog. Before joining Diverse, published by Cox, Matthews & Associates, Coleman was a congressional correspondent for the Washington D.C.-based Gannett News Service. She spent five years at the St. Paul Pioneer Press in St. Paul, MN, writing most recently about issues affecting St. Paul’s increasingly diverse neighborhoods. During her tenure in St. Paul, she also served as a transportation columnist and a politics reporter covering the Minnesota legislature. The Chicago native earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She lives in Fairfax, VA with her precocious 11-year-old daughter.
