About Ted Hutton
Ted Hutton is a sports reporter for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, a 300,000 (and shrinking) circulation daily that covers Broward and Palm Beach counties. He covers Florida Atlantic University athletics and assists with coverage of the pro franchises, local events and anything else that comes his way. Hutton is a native of Ohio and began working at the Record-Courier in Kent before getting his master’s at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern. He came to the Sun-Sentinel after getting his degree from Medill, and is in his 26th year at the Sentinel. Hutton started as a copy editor, then became an assistant city editor then city editor before moving to sports 11 years ago as assistant sports editor. He became tired of life behind a desk, and decided to become a reporter in 2001 when FAU began its football program; a move he credits with adding untold years to his life. He swims, runs, fishes, hikes, reads and has raised three kids with a patient wife and wonderful mother at his side.
