About Tonia Twichell
Tonia Twichell is the senior editor for online news at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, CO. A new position both for Twichell and for the newspaper, it was created in response to the paper’s growing emphasis on online news. Twichell has been at the Rocky since 1990. During those 18 years, she has mainly worked on the metro desk, but most recently had the title of content editor, a liaison role between print and Web. She started her career at a small Arizona daily called the Tempe Daily News (now defunct), where she was a police reporter. She then spent six years at a p.m. paper called the Albuquerque Tribune, which recently closed its doors. Her hobbies include reading, travel and exercise. She’s been taking French language classes for several years, but has given up on ever understanding the subjontif tense.
