About Valerie Wells
WELLS, VALERIE is a higher education reporter at the Hattiesburg American in Mississippi. Her past reporting has included business, arts, local government and neighborhood activism. She has worked as an editor of community newspapers, an assistant features editor and as a freelance journalist. Wells studied journalism at Eastern Washington University where she received her bachelor’s degree. She loves science fiction and detective novels but hates writing her own biography.
