About Vince Beiser
BEISER, VINCE is a senior editor for Wired Science Digital, the online arm of Wired Science, a PBS television show spun off from Wired magazine based in Los Angeles. He is also a freelance writer specializing in criminal justice and other social issues. His work has been honored by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and the Missouri School of Journalism, the National Mental Health Association, the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies and many other institutions. In some 15 years in the news business, he has been a senior editor for Mother Jones, a special projects reporter for The Oakland Tribune, and a senior writer for The Jerusalem Report, Israel's leading news magazine. He has also hunted down stories from the Balkans to the Middle East on assignments for publications including Harper's, Wired, The Los Angeles Times Magazine, The Village Voice, The New Republic, The Nation, and Rolling Stone. Beiser is an alum of the University of California at Berkeley, where he was graduated with a bachelor’s degree in middle eastern studies.
