VON QUEDNOW, CINDY is a reporter for the Ventura County Star in Camarillo, CA. She covers breaking news and public safety spanning Ventura County. She often takes her own photos and video with her iPhone while covering breaking news. Von Quednow was hired as a full time reporter with the Star in May, but worked as a Scripps reporting fellow in November 2010. Von Quednow interned at the Los Angeles Daily News, Scripps Howard Foundation Wire in Washington, D.C., ColorLines Magazine in Oakland and El Tiempo Latino, a Washington Post Company Spanish language publication. Her reporting adventures have taken her to Tijuana, Mexico and El Salvador. She has written, reported and edited in Spanish and English and holds dual degrees in journalism and Central American studies from California State University, Northridge. She lives in Oxnard but was born and raised in Los Angeles. She loves the Dodgers and her two German Shepherd dogs.
