About Wayne D'Orio
D’ORIO, WAYNE is an award-winning education editor and writer, having covered the issues, leaders, and technology in K-12 for more than a decade. For the past two years, he was the Executive Editor of Scholastic Administrator, a 75,000-circulation magazine. His recent work has included a major feature on New Orleans’s new school model, a video interview with former NYC Chancellor Rudy Crew, and a feature and video on Roslyn, Long Island’s use of iPads in the classroom. He has served on the school board of his Connecticut town for five years, leaving in 2010 as Vice Chairman. Prior to Scholastic, he was managing editor of EdTech: Focus on K-12, a quarterly business magazine for CTOs and IT leaders, and Editor-in-Chief for District Administration magazine. He has written two books for Chelsea House, biographies of the Rev. Al Sharpton and former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun.
