About Kurt Wilson
WILSON, KURT is the photography editor at the Missoulian, a 30,000 circulation newspaper that covers western Montana. His responsibilities include planning the Sunday feature section, Montana Territory, that often displays the newspaper's best photography and writing. The section includes the Books page, a popular topic in a town filled with writers. Wilson is a native of western Montana and graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Montana. His first newspaper job was in Longview, WA, where he worked as a staff photographer at the Daily News for three years before returning to Montana to take a job on the photography staff of the Missoulian. He became the newspaper's photography editor in 1986. He enjoys long-distance motorcycle travel and recently rode solo from Missoula to Anchorage. He also enjoys reading, listening to music, fly fishing and exploring new territory.
