What's in a Box?

The food in this Alameda Food Bank giveaway box rings up at $37.59, almost a fifth of what client Edward Hansen, as one example, receives each month in food stamps. For a price-check, roll over each item.

To promote good nutrition, the Alameda Food Bank gives away an assortment of perishable and non-perishable foods. They include canned fruits and vegetables; canned beans and soups; canned fish and other meats; pre-packaged meals; rice; dried pasta; cereal; and fresh produce.
