The Crucible – Fired Up Camp » KDMC Workshops

Sparks fly, flames hiss, forges roar, hammers pound - working at (or even just visiting) The Crucible is a visceral experience that will stay with you long after you've left.

The Crucible is an arts studio in Oakland that provides instruction in industrial and fine arts to children and adults.

From welding and black smithing, to glass blowing and jewelry making, the faculty and staff of The Crucible encourage artistic expression through a wide variety of medium. Established in 1999, The Crucible educates over 5,000 people each year in over 175 classes and workshops.

Every summer, The Crucible offers young artists the chance to play with fire during the week-long Fired Up Camp. Students attack projects with hammers and tongs, flame throwers and welding torches - and come away with more than just an art project transformed by fire.
