The motto of the Downtown Berkeley Association is "Promoting arts and commerce in the heart of the city." Similar business groups operate in other neighborhoods of Berkeley.

Berkeley's Convention & Visitors Bureau/Film Office urges visitors to "Come for the Culture, Stay for the Food!"

The City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development team runs the active Berkeley Civic Arts program 

A four-city coalition working to harness the arts to economic development. Berkeley is the only working model of this kind in the country.

Kala Art Institute's mission is to help artists sustain their creative efforts through its Artist-in- Residence and Fellowship Programs. The aim is to increase appreciation of art through exhibitions, public programming and education.
