Professor Mark B. Goodwin

Mark Goodwin is the assistant director of the University of California Museum of Paleontology in Berkeley California. His job: Manage the museum's collections and run its laboratories. He has five helpers.

Together they take care of the largest collection of fossils on any university campus on the planet.

Goodwin conducts research in the field and in the lab. His chief interests: animals from the Upper Cretaceous Period in the Western Interior of North America, and animals from the Mesozoic Period found in Ethiopia, Africa.

Goodwin has been digging for dinosaurs in the Hell Creek area of Montana, where the baby triceratops skull was found, since 1978.
