After you create a new project or re-open an existing project, the main workspace for Adobe Premiere will open on your screen. It is divided into four sections or panes:

• Project pane - lower left, where your project files are listed.
• Source pane - upper left, where clips you click on in the project pane are displayed
• Timeline - lower right, where the sequence you use to assemble the clips for your movie, as well as  transitions, text boxes, audio tracks, etc., is shown
• Program pane - upper right, where you can play the sequence of clips and other elements in your Timeline
