Course Overview

Add depth, dimension and soul to your storytelling. Sound design is a key component of producing high-quality podcasts. Music, sound effects and natural sounds all add layers of complexity, and can inspire visual imagery and meaning. Bring listeners deeper into your story with the unseen art of sound design.

In this introductory online mini-course, you’ll gain foundational insight into the vital art of pre- and post-production sound design. Learn the basics directly from professional sound designers, and come away with insider knowledge and tips to apply to your own audio production.

Jocelyn Frank

Award-winning journalist Jocelyn Frank is a sought-after expert in radio and podcast production, project management, and interactive art experiences. Jocelyn is currently senior producer, narrative audio at The Atlantic. Her past clients include BBC, NPR, CBS, Pushkin Industries, Performance Today and Slate (where she produces Slate’s Political Gabfest each week).

Jocelyn’s audio artwork can be found at the Smithsonian’s Freer Gallery, and has been exhibited at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden as well as in public parks, libraries, schools and as part of business development installations. Her interactive audio portraits series, Voices of Health, was selected to join the permanent Washingtonia Collection in Washington DC. Jocelyn played oboe in the swamp-rock band The Torches for many years.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
